This blog
wants to explain stories, anecdotes and experiences of the Travelling Family,
real things that happened time ago or recently, to us and also to other
Travelling Families and friends, and things that we have heard, seen and felt
when we have been travelling.
The
Travelling Family is composed by:
The Father.
At the age of 17, he spent seven weeks in Portugal with a friend. They sent one
postcard (1!) to the parents of one of them. Once it was read, they were asked
to pass it on the other family.
The Mother.
At two years old she was in Munich and the only thing she remembers was that
she fed a squirrel in the English Gardens (she knew the name of the garden a
few years later). Together with her parents and brothers she crossed half Spain
on board of a Renault4 where they were taking also a urinal … yes, sometimes to
travel with children implies very prosaic topics.
The Older
Daughter. When she was 4 months old she flew for the first time and during years
she did not understand that, sometimes, in the restaurants they do not have
spaghetti for the children. Now she already wants to fly alone.
The Medium
Daughter. She threw stones to some hens in a rural house of France, not to
attack them but in order that they turned on, because she wanted to say them “hello”.
The owner of the rural house still curses her.
The
Youngest Son. He was expert in throwing his pacifier to the stratosphere though
immediately later he was claiming for it again. His sisters designed an ingenious
invention in order to avoid the pacifier flying and bouncing in the walls of
the car. By the way, he is the only member of the family who is fully from the
21st century.
