Declaration from the TF

Universal Declaration of TF

1-The Travelling Family does not use the arrival of a son or daughter as an excuse to stop travelling and falling down deep into the camping chair at the beach. The TF adjust locations and budgets, check and prevent problems, take a deep breath, and enjoy their vacation where they prefer, even if they walk loaded with stuffed animals, pacifiers and diapers till the train controllers are looking at them with pity.

2-The Travelling Family knows and defends that all, ALL, the members of the family have to enjoy the holidays. This means that, sometimes, adults are adapted to the needs and tastes of children, and in other times, it is the children who adapts to what adults want to do. Negotiation and time management is the mother of all the battles.

3-As a consequence of point 2 of this Declaration, the TF knows that their children are not the Kings of the Mambo (although they love them very much, with no doubt), and knows that travelling together their kids will get infected by the virus of travelling around the world. And the kids know their parents will seek pleasurable activities for them, but also that they should start getting used to other things that they might not think at the first time.

4-Examples of sections 2 and 3 of the Declaration:

-It is NOT the same, NO, going on holidays to Paris and spending one day in Eurodisney, that going on holidays to Eurodisney and spending one day in Paris.
-It is not required to go to Each and Every one of the amusement parks in every city.
-You can go to a museum, a concert and an art exhibition with a child. There is no news yet over a child who has caught fire to a cultural centre. But, of course, it’s important to teach them to enjoy culture and no bother anyone but their parents, the ones who brought them into this world.

-Children need to burn energy, release adrenaline ... Yes Absolutely. But they are not merely crazy little goats that need to run in the fields. They also appreciate a talk about a castle and medieval everyday life, a demonstration of birds of prey or a child's theatre play. Or do we only want to raise little nice animals? Not the Travelling Family.

5- Last, but not least: Let’s be honest. Travelling is not cheap. But it doesn’t have to be expensive. It is obvious that staying home is cheaper... but sometimes it is not. It's all about the way you travel. It’s not the same to go to a 5 star hotel that to a campsite or a cottage. Accommodation, food and transportation are the three pillars that define the holiday budget. From there, everyone knows their priorities and needs. Some people spent on clothes the budget for five days in Paris. Some people pay with no pain football tickets and complain how expensive a museum is. The Travelling Family knows that the Planet is very big and life is short.  So... Carpe Diem.
